Every gives you access to tax-advantaged benefits that can help pay for healthcare, dependent care, and commuting expenses.
You can view your balances and submit reimbursements anytime from Every → Benefits.
At a glance

Your available balance is shown in Every. Expenses must be eligible for the benefit you are using.
Healthcare FSA
A Healthcare FSA helps you pay for eligible healthcare expenses with pre-tax dollars.
Your FSA has an annual budget based on the amount you elected for the plan year.
How do I pay?
You have two options:
Use your Every benefits debit card for eligible purchases.
Pay out of pocket and submit a reimbursement in Every.
Your full Healthcare FSA election is generally available at the beginning of the plan year, even though contributions are taken from your paycheck throughout the year.
What can I use it for?
Common eligible expenses include:
Doctor visits, copays, deductibles, and coinsurance
Prescription medications
Many over-the-counter medicines
Dental care and orthodontia
Eye exams
Prescription glasses and contact lenses
Mental health care
Physical therapy
Medical equipment and supplies
Menstrual care products
You can find more examples in the IRS guide to eligible medical expenses: IRS Publication 502 — Medical and Dental Expenses.
Dependent Care FSA
A Dependent Care FSA helps pay for eligible care for a child or other qualifying dependent while you work or look for work.
Your Dependent Care FSA has an annual budget based on the amount you elected for the plan year.
How do I pay?
Dependent Care FSA expenses cannot be paid with your Every benefits debit card.
Instead:
Pay the caregiver or provider yourself.
Go to Every → Benefits → Submit reimbursement.
Submit the expense and any required documentation.
You’ll be reimbursed from the amount currently available in your Dependent Care FSA.
Unlike a Healthcare FSA, you can generally only be reimbursed up to the amount that has already been contributed to your Dependent Care FSA.
What can I use it for?
Common eligible expenses include:
Daycare
Preschool
Before- and after-school care
Summer day camp
Babysitters or nannies while you work
Eligible adult dependent care
Expenses generally must allow you and your spouse, if applicable, to work or look for work.
Common expenses that are not eligible include:
Overnight camp
School tuition
Tutoring
Care provided by your spouse or certain dependents
For detailed eligibility rules, see IRS Publication 503 — Child and Dependent Care Expenses.
Commuter Benefits
Commuter benefits help you pay for eligible transportation and parking expenses related to commuting to work.
Unlike an FSA, your commuter benefit is evergreen. It continues from month to month rather than being a single annual election.
How do I pay?
You can:
Use your Every benefits debit card for eligible commuter purchases.
Pay out of pocket and submit a reimbursement
What can I use it for?
Eligible transit expenses can include:
Bus fares and passes
Train and subway fares
Ferry fares
Eligible commuter vanpools
Eligible parking expenses can include:
Parking at or near your workplace
Parking at a train or transit station you use to commute to work
Personal transportation costs such as gas for your own car are generally not eligible commuter expenses.
For more detail, see the IRS rules for Qualified Transportation Benefits in Publication 15-B.
How to submit a reimbursement
Go to:
Every → Benefits → Submit reimbursement
Choose the benefit you want to use and enter the details of your expense.
You may be asked to provide a receipt or other documentation showing:
What you purchased or paid for
The amount
The date
The provider or merchant
Keep your receipts even when you use your Every benefits debit card. In some cases, additional documentation may be required to confirm that an expense is eligible.
Understanding your balance
Your balance works a little differently depending on the benefit.
Healthcare FSA: You have an annual election for the plan year. Your full annual amount is generally available upfront.
Dependent Care FSA: You have an annual election, but reimbursements are generally limited to the amount that has already been contributed through payroll.
Commuter Benefits: Your benefit is ongoing and does not operate like an annual FSA election. Your available commuter balance can generally continue to be used for future eligible commuting expenses while you remain eligible.
What happens to unused money?
FSA and Dependent Care FSA balances are tied to a plan year. What happens to unused money at the end of the year depends on your employer's plan, including whether the plan offers a carryover or grace period.
Your commuter benefit works differently and is designed to continue month to month rather than resetting like an FSA.
You can always check Every → Benefits to see your current available balance.
